Baku trying to hinder inclusion of report on Eastern Armenia at conference of Hermitage

The National History Museum of Azerbaijan has sent an official complaint to the State Hermitage Museum of the Russian Federation against the inclusion of the report on Eastern Armenia at the International Conference on Oriental Numismatics to be held on 26-29 September in Saint Petersburg. The report is entitled “Coining in Eastern Armenia (Yerevan, Nakhichevan, Karabakh) (1747-1827)”.

Azerbaijan is “agitated” since the report by Hakobyan and Petrov presents Yerevan, Nakhichevan and Karabakh as territories pertaining to Eastern Armenia and the money circulated in the territory between 1747 and 1827 as Armenian.

The message of Azerbaijan reads as follows: “We are agitated by the formulation in the report. While the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan remain tense, the deepening of confrontation leads to the emergence of bewilderment,” reported Rusarminfo.ru, according to PanARMENIAN.Net.
