On September 21, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Islamic Republic of Iran hosted a reception dedicated to the 25^th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia at Ararat Sport Center in Tehran. Among the attendees were high-ranking Iranian officials and servicemen, as well as the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Tehran and representatives of the local Armenian community.

In his welcoming speech addressed to the attendees, RA Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tumanyan presented the achievements made over the past 25 years of independence and the future plans. The Ambassador touched upon the efforts that are being made for longstanding security and stability in the region, the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the friendly relations established with Iran.

Among other speakers was First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sattar Mahmud, who praised the history of Armenian-Iranian relations and attached special importance to the economic projects that Iran and Armenia are carrying out.
