AGBU Launches Buenos Aires Summer Internship Program in 2017

AGBU is proud to announce its most recent addition to its cadre of internship programs in New York, London, Paris and Yerevan with the launch of the Buenos Aires Summer Internship Program (BASIP) in July 2017.
BASIP is the latest initiative designed to serve the needs of Armenian college students who are eager to learn about their heritage and develop hands-on professional development in the heart of South America. From its rich history and eclectic neighborhoods to its vibrant arts and culture scene, Buenos Aires is sure to provide BASIP participants a valuable and memorable internship experience.
Interns will be exposed to challenging and stimulating work environments in a wide variety of host organizations covering a range of career sectors, including finance, law, medicine, art and more.
The four-week program also provides opportunities to network with leading professionals and the AGBU Young Professionals (YP) Buenos Aires community, who will lead career workshops, discuss effective resume writing tips, advise on tips for successful job interviews and guide on social media use to stay relevant in the job market. Social events with the Buenos Aires Armenian community, including AGBU-sponsored winter mixers, are also planned.
As with all of AGBU’s Summer Internship Programs, participants will explore Argentina through various excursions and sightseeing trips, including a dinner show at the internationally known Señor Tango, a visit to the Teatro Colón (Colón Theatre) and a trip to the estancias (ranches) in San Antonio de Areco.
BASIP interns will be housed at the four-star Callao Suites Apart Hotel in Recoleta, located close to public transportation, parks and open spaces and landmarks, including the Museo de las Bellas Artes and Centro Cultural Recoleta (Recoleta Cultural Center).
Interested students can fill out an application for the program at http://agbu-internship.org/. The deadline to apply for the program is December 2. All participants must have an advanced proficiency of Spanish to participate in the program.
The AGBU Internship Program was launched in 1987 with the flagship New York Summer Internship Program (NYSIP) to provide a foundation for participants to gain hands-on experience in their fields of interest and to create a venue for students to engage in meaningful exchanges through a series of cultural and social activities. The program boasts over 900 alumni and, together with the AGBU Young Professionals, collectively form the basis for a global network of successful professionals and future Armenian leaders.
