Armenian FM receives Mayor of Marseilles

On October 26, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan received Mayor of Marseilles, Senator Jean-Claude Gaudin. The mayor was accompanied by First Deputy Mayor Roland Blum, Deputy Mayor, Deputy of the European Parliament Dominique Vlasto, Deputy Mayors Marie-Louise Lota and Didier Parakian, Head of the 13th and 14th districts of Marseilles Garo Hovsepian, as well as several other high-ranking officials of the municipality, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.

Greeting the guest, Edward Nalbandyan mentioned that Armenia has always had a special attitude towards France and the French due to the historically established and strong friendly ties between the two countries and the existing close interstate partnership.

The foreign minister also attached importance to the development of the Armenian-French multifaceted cooperation and particularly underlined the significant achievements that have been made in politics, economy, culture, education and the decentralized cooperation.

The sides touched upon the results of the third Armenian-French conference on decentralized cooperation held in Valance ten days ago and mentioned that the frequency of such events brings a new sweep to bilateral relations.

The interlocutors also attached importance to the important contribution of the French-Armenian community to the development of interstate relations. In this regard, Jean-Claude Gaudin underlined the French-Armenians’ role in the advancement of France and particularly Marseilles.

Edward Nalbandyan and Jean-Claude Gaudin expressed satisfaction with the active cooperation between Yerevan and Marseilles and underlined that the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Marseilles highly contributes to the expansion of partnership in different spheres and the deepening of relations.
