Armenian church to be rebuilt as library in Turkish town. photos

An Armenian apostolic church in central Turkey is going to be rebuilt to reopen as a museum.

The St Mary church Kayseri served as a gym for about four decades, the Istanbul-Armenian publication Agos reports.

In an appeal submitted to the town’s mayor earlier, the Armenian protestants in Turkey called for specific steps to initiate the church’s reconstruction.

The library is expected to open in 2017 and operate round the clock.
