The presentation of the book of poems by Armenian writer Hovhannes Tumanyan entitled “Mi Katil Meghr” (A Drop of Honey) was held in the Ukrainian city of Nikolaev on the sidelines of the events dedicated to the 25^th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine and to the 400^th anniversary of Armenian printing in Ukraine.

Hayern Aysor, citing Analitikaua.net, reports that the book was translated into Ukrainian by director of the youth library of Nikolaev district Natalya Tkanchenko. “These ballads were written in the late 19^th century and early 20^th century, but the topics are rather current. The book is devoted to topics such as war and peace, the struggle between good and evil and the love for the homeland,” Tkanchenko stated.

The book is illustrated by painter Svetlana Chebanova. According to her, the pomegranate, which is a décor on the cover, is considered the symbol of Armenia and the Armenian people, just like the apricot and churches. “What is a pomegranate? It is the symbol of health, longevity, eternity, a strong marriage and love,” Chebanova said.

The book presentation was held with the support of president of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine in the Nikolaev district Artur Kokhlikyan.
