Renowned French-Armenian urologist Jean-Pierre Berberian is in Armenia

RA Minister of Health Armen Muradyan today received renowned French-Armenian urologist Jean-Pierre Berberian, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Health to Hayern Aysor.

The professor informed the Minister about the visit that the 30-member group of leading doctors of the French Urological Association will be making to Armenia in September for exchange of experiences and the expansion of cooperation.

The Minister welcomed the initiative and expressed willingness to support it. He suggested organizing a joint satellite symposium, which will be held on the sidelines of the annual workshop of the Armenian Urological Association. The workshop will feature discussions on previously selected professional topics and will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence.

Armen Muradyan emphasized that Armenia has many professional medical unions and associations and that the leader is the Armenian Urological Association, which has been around for nearly 20 years.

Professor, urologist Ivan Aghajanyan presented the activities of Jean-Pierre Berberian and emphasized that the renowned doctor helped enhance endoscopes in the late 1980s, which became a turning point in not only urology, but also general medicine. Berberian has also performed the surgery for one of the renowned figures of the Armenian people, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia and the USSR, composer Eduard Mirzoyan.

The directions for expansion of cooperation were also touched upon during the meeting.
