Aleppo’s doctors address Obama with request for help
A group of doctors of Aleppo have addressed U.S. President Barack Obama with the request to help 250,000 locals devastated by the Syrian conflict, reports BBC Russian service.
As the letter signed by 29 doctors states, if air strikes against hospitals continue, there will not be any more clinics and hospitals in Aleppo in a month.
The doctors are asking Obama to ban flights in Aleppo so that the bombings stop.
According to doctors, over the past month, there have been 42 attacks on medical institutions in Syria.
“Two weeks ago, four newborns died after an explosion disturbed their supply of oxygen,” the letter reads.
“We don’t need tears, sympathy or prayers. What we need the most is a zone in Aleppo without bombings, as well as the international community’s measures to disallow the seizure of Aleppo,” write the doctors, according to 168.am.
The eastern sector of Aleppo is under the control of the rebels. Clashes have become more heated in Aleppo over the past couple of days.
