Armenian students score 7 medals at International Student Mathematics Olympiad

The Bulgarian city of Blagoevgrad hosted the subsequent International Student Mathematics Olympiad (IMC), bringing together over 320 participants from 72 universities around the world, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Education and Science.

Armenia was represented by the teams of Yerevan State University, the American University of Armenia and the Armenian-Slavonic University. The Olympiad was held for teams and individuals. Yerevan State University was represented by four participants, two of which-Albert Gevorgyan and Albert Sahakyan-received the gold medals, Vazgen Mikayelyan received the silver medal, and Avetik Karagulyan scored the bronze medal.

Artyom Kosyan and Levon Stepanyan from the American University of Armenia scored the silver and bronze medals, respectively. Hrachya Kocharyan from the Armenian-Slavonic University scored the bronze medal.

Overall, seven participants of Armenia scored 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals.

Armenia’s teams were led by lecturer of Yerevan State University and the American University of Armenia Karen Keryan.
