On July 18, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Lebanon Samvel Mkrtchyan had a meeting with newly elected Mayor of Beirut Jamal Itani. Armenian members of Beirut City Council Aram Mayilian, Hagop Terzian and Sahag Keshishian were also participating in the meeting, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Samvel Mkrtchyan transmitted the congratulatory message of Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan to Jamal Itani and wished him success during his term of office.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the details about the implementation of bilateral cultural programs and projects and attached importance to the exchange of experiences between the sister cities of Yerevan and Beirut for general management of municipal economy, tourism, provision of services and several other sectors.
