Yerevan Mayor meets with members of choir of Cambridge’s Armenian Church

Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the members of Konstantin Petrosyan’s 50-year choir, which was established under the auspices of the Armenian Church of the U.S. city of Cambridge, as reported the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality.
Greeting the guests and congratulating them on the choir’s 50th anniversary, the mayor expressed his wishes and attached importance to the pro-national mission and activities that the choir has been carrying out for half a century. During the meeting, Taron Margaryan briefly presented the cultural life in Yerevan and the perspectives of development, including the activities of music and arts schools in Yerevan where hundreds of children are being educated and receiving an aesthetic upbringing.
Expressing gratitude to the mayor for the cordial reception, the guests mentioned that the choir, which also has foreign members, mainly performs the spiritual and classical songs of Armenian composers. The guests also shared their impressions of their visit and expressed admiration of the efforts that have been made to ensure safety in the capital. They also asked about the introduction of new technologies and the programs that are being carried out for the growth of tourism in Yerevan, stressing the fact that Yerevan can attract more tourists with its rich history and culture spanning millennia.
At the end of the meeting, the guests invited Mayor Taron Margaryan to visit Cambridge to attend the grand concert dedicated to the choir’s 50th anniversary.
