“Medicine and Health” atelier made telemedicine attempt via long-distance at Vardanants Medical Center

On July 12, the “Medicine and Health” atelier, which is part of the first “Armenia. Create Together” youth forum for students, alumni and young scholars of top foreign universities, started the day with a visit to Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial, toured the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and had another meeting at Vardanants Medical Center.

Under the direction of Deputy Director of the Center, pediatrician Narine Grigoryan, the four members of the atelier, including students of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi discussed issues on expanding the scope of telemedicine, were introduced to the software and interactive websites and established a long-distance connection with the other members of the atelier, who were in the Gargar village of Lori Province. The key objective of the atelier is to receive information about patients from the members of the atelier in Gargar. According to that information, the atelier will classify the patients according to their health problems and to the levels of gravity of their diseases, provide diagnoses and determine where they need to receive treatment. The patients will undergo treatment at Vardanants Medical Center, if necessary.

All the members of the atelier are performing their tasks with pleasure and willingness, and those tasks will surely become one of the bedrocks of their professional careers after they receive their professional education.
