On June 9, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Harutyun Poghosyan, the person responsible for the Armenian Genocide Memorial placed in Almelo, the Netherlands.
Greeting the guest, Minister Hranush Hakobyan appreciated the organization and consolidation of the Armenian community of the Netherlands and especially Almelo and particularly stated the following: “I am delighted to see that your community is unified and carries out many pro-national activities. On the occasion of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, an Armenian Genocide Memorial was placed in Almelo, and the film “Sunrise over Lake Van” was shown with the support of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia in April 2015. You also actively participate in the programs of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for preservation of the Armenian identity. I believe it is important for the members of the community to be good citizens of the Netherlands, but preserve your national identity and traditions and never forget the Armenian language.”
Taking into consideration Harutyun Poghosyan’s contributions to the development of the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan awarded Harutyun Poghosyan with a certificate of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
Harutyun Poghosyan expressed gratitude for the award and stated that the high appreciation was inspiring and binding.
