FM receives newly appointed Ambassador of Turkmenistan
On October 5, newly appointed Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Armenia Gurbannazar Nazarov presented
the copies of his credentials to RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan.
Minister Nalbandyan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed certainty that
Ambassador Nazarov would make a significant contribution to the development of the Armenian-Turkmen
friendly relations. Emphasizing the fact that Armenia attaches great importance to the strengthening
and expansion of cooperation with Turkmenistan, the minister said the official visit of Turkmen President
Gurbanguli Berdimukhamedov to Armenia at the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan last year brought a
new sweep to the bilateral relations and stressed with satisfaction that the agreements reached during the
visit are being implemented.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Nazarov assured that he would do everything possible
to ensure ongoing progress of the Armenian-Turkmen cooperation.
During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the latest session of the Armenian-Turkmen inter-
governmental commission on economic cooperation and the holding of consultations between the
Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.
