On June 3, Merited Art Figure of the Republic of Armenia, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, Professor Eduard Vardanyan and his daughter, Amalya Vardanyan opened their personal painting exhibition at the Union of Artists of Armenia with the support of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the Armenian International Women’s Association, Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, the Union of Artists of Armenia and Art-Caucasus regional association.

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, other state and public figures and artists participated in the event.

President of the Union of Artists of Armenia Karen Aghamyan gave his opening remarks at the event. “Eduard Vardanyan’s works stand out with their uniqueness and originality. Vardanyan has dedicated many years of his life to educating several generations at Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts. His works are unique and exceptional. I congratulate Eduard Vardanyan on this beautiful exhibition and wish him great energy and more success.”

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan gave her welcoming remarks.

Congratulating the painter on his 70^th birthday, the Minister stated the following: “Dear friends, the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts is truly rich with Vardanyan. For years, our beloved Edaurd has educated generations and has transmitted his art and knowledge to young painters. Vardanyan’s paintings portray man and animals as the wonders of nature. The images of people and animals in his works are laconic and move with the precise and smooth strokes of his brush. Interestingly, in the Vardanyan family, the father reproduces the history and traditions of the Armenians, while his daughter presents European civilization.”

Minister Hranush Hakobyan awarded painter Edik Vardanyan with the Arshile Gorky Medal of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for disseminating and popularizing Armenian arts in the Diaspora and for making contributions to the development of the Armenia-Diaspora partnership with his career.

In his speech, Rector of Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts Aram Isabekyan praised the art of Eduard Vardanyan.

The event ended with a speech by painter Eduard Vardanyan, who expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Diaspora and especially to Minister Hranush Hakobyan for highly appreciating his art and helping him exhibit his paintings.
