Hovhannes Kajaznuni’s sons sacrificed their lives for Armenia
First Prime Minister of the First Republic of Armenia Hovhannes Kajaznuni had four sons and two daughters-Anahit, Aram, Ashot Ruben, Karen and Margo, according to the sequence of their births.
When the First World War broke out in 1914, Kajaznuni’s three young sons left for the battlefield.
Ashot Kajaznuni was killed during the Armenian-Turkish battles in Gharakilisa in May 1918.
Aram Kajaznuni was injured twice and later killed in the Armenian-Tatar battles in Zangibasar (Masis) in the summer of 1920.
Ruben Kajaznuni was taken captive in Kars in the summer of 1920 when Turkish troops seized the city.
The tombs of the Kajaznunis are located in Yerevan.
Kajaznuni was buried at the cemetery of Kozern, but his body disappeared due to demolition of the cemetery. His daughter, Margaret Kajaznuni is erecting a symbolic tombstone in the cemetery of Tokhmakh, writes henaran.am.
