Agriculture Minister says Armenia isn’t even importing tomatoes from Turkey
The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia continued to discuss the executive of the 2015 State Budget.
Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan touched upon a highly discussed issue, that is, tomatoes imported from Turkey don’t allow the sale of Armenian tomatoes.
The Minister stated that the government encourages the local production of tomatoes and that the increase in the number of sorts is in the focus of the Ministry of Agriculture.
“Armenia is no longer importing large amounts of tomatoes from Turkey. Armenia received the last batch of tomatoes in March. We have conducted studies in all the markets, but we haven’t found any Turkish tomatoes,” the Minister said, as reported yerkir.am.
