Armenian President states three conditions necessary for restarting negotiations over NK conflict

During the session of the Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Serzh Sargsyan stated the three major steps that need to be taken to restart the process of negotiations over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
This is what press speaker of the RPA Eduard Sharmazanov declared after the session of the RPA Executive Body, writes Tert.am.
“Step 1-introduction of confidence-building measures and investigation mechanisms; step 2-addressed statements; step 3-guarantees that Azerbaijan will not resort to aggression and terrorism against the people of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. At this moment, it is early to talk about the restart of negotiations because the military operations continue or at least haven’t completely ended, Azerbaijan is violating the ceasefire agreement that it signed with Artsakh and Armenia in 1994 and is also violating the verbal ceasefire agreement that it reached with Moscow,” he said.
Earlier, Serzh Sargsyan had declared that the war in Nagorno-Karabakh could restart at any moment and emphasized that Armenia’s return to peaceful negotiations without security guarantees makes no sense since the situation has drastically changed. “On the one hand, we are somewhat leading negotiations. On the other hand, military figures will be engaged in a war in an attempt to settle the conflict,” Sargsyan stated.
