On the occasion of the 101^st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the youth of Artsakh have addressed the international community, as reported the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs of the Artsakh Republic, according to Hayern Aysor.

“The youth of Artsakh, commemorating the 1.5 million innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide organized in the Ottoman Empire, also bows in memory of all those who died during the four-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan in early April of 2016, as well as in memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the state borders of the Artsakh Republic and the people of Artsakh.

Expressing its gratitude to all the states, organizations and individuals having recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide, the youth of Artsakh deem it necessary to inform the international community that, on 1-5 April 2016, a new attempt of genocide was prevented thanks to the endeavors of the 18-20-year-old soldiers of the Defense Army of Artsakh. While certain countries and politicians were trying to come up with another diplomatic trick to dodge the term ��?genocide’ in their April 24^th addresses in order to ��?not offend’ Turkey, it was with the permission and encouragement of Turkey that its brother Azerbaijan made another attempt of genocide against the Armenians of Artsakh, forgetting the lessons of ethnic cleansing and the Azerbaijan-Nagorno-Karabakh war unleashed in 1988-94, forgetting that Azerbaijan is no longer facing the Armenians who are powerless and are deprived of statehood. Even the most state-of-the-art and large number of arms and weaponry couldn’t break the spirit of Armenian soldiers and the unity of the Armenian people and go against the truth that ��?those who come with weapons will die with those weapons’.

The youth of Artsakh declares to the world that any attempt to violate the right of the Armenians of Artsakh to live freely and independently in their historic homeland is doomed to failure and calls on the international community and all the structures concerned about the maintenance of peace in the South Caucasus to combine their efforts to suppress the criminal adventurism of the Azerbaijani authorities and put an end to its vengeful ambitions once and for all,” the statement of the youth of Artsakh reads.
