Weightlifters Andranik Karapetyan and Tigran Martirosyan performed excellently in the up-to 77 kg weight category at the 2016 European Weightlifting Championships, writes Artsakhpress.
In the snatch drill, Karapetyan was stronger and scored a small gold medal after lifting 170 kg. Martirosyan lifted 10 kg less and won second place.
In the jerk drill, Karapetyan succeeded again and lifted 197 kg, while Martirosyan won second place in the push drill after lifting 192 kg.
Lifting 367 kg in the biathlon, Andranik Karapetyan was declared as a European champion for the first time in his career. Martirosyan scored a silver medal after lifting a total of 352 kg.
