Statement of the Armenian-Polish Public Committee
To the President of Poland
Distinguished Mr. President,
The Armenian-Polish Public Committee is strictly concerned about the bombings and large-scale military operations that began on the night of 1 April 2016 along the entire border of eastern Artsakh. We call on condemning the perfidious attacks of the Azerbaijani armed forces against the peaceful civilians and defense positions of Artsakh.
With its aggressive actions, Azerbaijan’s leadership is not only crudely violating the ceasefire agreement signed in 1994, but is also causing a devastating blow to the process of negotiations for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Ilham Aliyev’s anti-Christian policy needs to be strictly condemned.
The Muslim Turks and Azerbaijanis referring to Christians as ?gyavurs’ (infidels) never miss an opportunity to persecute and eliminate the Armenian people, who have been Christians for over 1,700 years.
The Azerbaijanis are trying to continue the genocide that began in 1915 in Ottoman Turkey and was left unpunished, bombing the peaceful residences of Artsakh. As a result, on the morning of 2 April, peaceful civilians and even children were killed and injured. The insidious encroachments against the people of Artsakh entitled to self-determination cannot be left punished. This is not only the continuity of the genocide of 1915, but also a loop in the ongoing chain of the war that Muslim extremists have declared to all Christians around the world.
Until now, the Defense Army of Artsakh has been capable of giving adequate counterattacks to the Azerbaijani aggressors, among which are, according to the latest news, volunteers of the barbarous ISIS having left for Azerbaijan to fight. This shows that the Defense Army of Artsakh is not only defending Artsakh, but is also making its contribution to the major fight against global terrorism.
It is very important for the international community to not shut an eye on the barbarities against the peaceful civilians of Artsakh. The aggressor Azerbaijan and ISIS, which has joined Azerbaijan, need to be stopped.
We must not allow the blood of peaceful Christians to be shed as a result of their aggression.
Their actions are against not only the Armenian people, but also all Christians around the world.
We hope our call does not go unanswered.
Sincerely,
President of the Armenian-Polish Public Committee
Hrachya Boyajyan
