100 meter long Armenia tricolor flag to be waved on 120th birth anniversary of Soghomon Tehleryan on 2 April

On April 2, Armenian freedom fighter and President of “Tigran Mets” Charitable Foundation Srapion Gevorgyan has organized a flashmob during which the Armenian tricolor flag will be waved at Hardenberg Street in Berlin. Members of the Armenian community of Germany will also be participating in the flashmob.

“Every year, I try to do something to unite all Armenians around a common idea. There is one goal. Although the enemy was trying to leave only one Armenian alive and in a museum at that 101 years ago, we Armenians say that 101 years have passed, and we still stand united as one and show that Armenians today dance the Armenian yarkhushta and the Armenian kochari in the very place where Taleat Pasha was killed by an Armenian,” Srapion Gevorgyan said.

According to him, 101 years later, the Armenians are slapping the Turks in the place where Soghomon Tehleryan killed ?the Turkish dog’, as he called him.

“By bringing young Diaspora Armenians together, I am holding another cognitive march and uniting Armenians around the idea of preservation of the Armenian identity, that is, the idea that our hero exists. I am also uniting them around the idea that whenever necessary, each of us will become like Soghomon Tehleryan, show his or her power and kill the Turkish dogs,” Srapion Gevorgyan said.

Dean of the Department of History at Yerevan State University Edik Minasyan, who was attending the press conference, said such actions are mandatory in order to remember heroes, writes Artsakhpress.am.

“In terms of stressing the importance of dignity and honor, as well as in terms of instilling in the generation of today love for the homeland, showing criminals where they belong and ensuring the victory of justice, I attach great importance to this event. It is an event that is very major commemorative event,” Edik Minasyan said.

According to the historian, the Armenian nation will always judge fairly.

“Such heroes will always be remembered throughout history,” Edik Minasyan said.
