Preliminary operational indicator of 2015 NKR Census made up 150,932 people

The National Statistical Service of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic has summed up the information regarding the number of the population registered during the 2015 Census, according to the brief bulletins from 90 instructive polling stations based on the brief bulletins provided by the 501 enumeration areas formed for the census, the brief bulletins from 10 census polling stations based thereon, as well as the brief bulletins drawn up by the municipal division of the NSS of the NKR in Stepanakert and the 7 regional divisions of the NSS of the NKR based on the last brief bulletins, reports the press service of the NSS to Hayern Aysor.

The brief data regarding persons registered through a special procedure by the NKR Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the NKR Ministry of Defense, the NKR Police and the NKR National Security Service adjunct to the NKR Government have been added to the grand total of the data reflected in the above mentioned bulletins.

All persons located in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh (permanently and temporarily) (nationals of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, foreign nationals and stateless persons) at the moment of registration for the census, as well as persons permanently (usually) residing in the NKR, but missing from the Republic at the moment of registration or the census (at 0000 hours on 1 December) (regardless of period of absence) were subject to registration during the 2015 Census.

The indicators reflected in the brief bulletins of the municipal division of the National Statistical Service of the NKR in Stepanakert and the 7 regional divisions were selectively checked, and even the brie bulletins of enumeration areas were checked. The amount of the samples made up nearly 10 percent of the enumeration areas.

Simple flaws and mathematical inaccuracies were discovered after the inspection conducted by the Census Department of the National Statistical Service of the NKR (a mistake in a mathematical operation, use of the total in the column for the indicator of only the number of men in the brief bulletins of the enumeration area in the total for the general number in succeeding brief bulletins, or omission of data in 1 or 2 questionnaires on the part of the enumerator and failure to show them in the fact sheets, etc.). The specific weight of the discovered mistakes made up 0.14 percent. Moreover, the inspection was limited to the above mentioned since the logical inspection of the questionnaires will be conducted through a Computerized Special Program (CSPro) after the data are entered. The following is the image that was seen after summing up the data shown in the above mentioned brief bulletins and the brief data regarding persons registered through a special procedure:

The preliminary operational indicator of the population registered during the 2015 Census of the NKR (at 0000 hours on 1 December) made up 150,932 people.

The sum-up also helped receive preliminary data regarding the number of the current population.

The number of the current population was determined during the census by subtracting the number of missing persons from the total number of persons registered at 00:00 hours on 1 December 2015.

The preliminary operational indicator of the current population makes up 146,260 people.

The number of the total population will be determined after all the questionnaires are codified and entered and the program is developed. This is set to end in November 2016.
