Hayern Aysor had reported that a row of explosions took place at the airport and at the Malbec and Schuman metro stations of Brussels on March 22. Currently, there are 27 victims and nearly 60 injured.
The office of the Armenian National Committee of Belgium is located next to the Schuman metro station. In an interview with Hayern Aysor, PR correspondent of the Armenian National Committee of Europe Bedo Demirdjian reported that Brussels is currently in a very mixed and difficult situation and that there are police and ambulance cars all around the city. “The metro station is quite near, but we didn’t hear the sound of the explosion at the office. We found out about the explosion in the news.”
Bedo Demirdjian also noted that they read the statement of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and learned that Armenia’s diplomats in Brussels and the members of the delegation of the National Assembly hadn’t suffered from the explosions. At this moment, it’s not clear as to whether there are Armenians among the victims and injured or not. “Brussels is in a very difficult situation. All our thoughts are with the victims. Let’s hope there are no Armenians among them,” Bedo Demirdjian added.
