RA Ambassador to Austria calls on supporting the development of Armenian Studies in Europe

On March 18, Head of the Chair of Armenian Studies of the Centre for Eastern Christian Studies at the University of Salzburg, Doctor, Professor Jasmine Dum-Tragut delivered a lecture devoted to the milestones for the development of Armenian studies in Europe, the past, current and future issues, as well as the activities of her Chair and the Centre and her latest unforgettable discoveries at the Armenia Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Austria, reports the RA MFA press service to Hayern Aysor.
The lecture was organized by the RA Embassy in Austria, in association with AGBU Austria and the Young Professionals Association.
Among the attendees were representatives of Austria’s academic and scientific circles, as well as heads and representatives of Austrian-Armenian organizations.
RA Ambassador to Austria Arman Kirakossian touched upon the objectives for Armenian studies in the academic community of Europe and praised the dedicated efforts of Dr. Dum-Tragut, who manages the flow of students with the desire to be involved in Armenian studies at the University of Salzburg, carries out theoretical and field-related studies and procures funds for the implementation of this or that scientific or educational project. Kirakossian noted that the Centre of the University of Salzburg successfully collaborates with Yerevan State University and the Institute of Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
To appreciate the pro-Armenian activities of Dr. Dum-Tragut, Ambassador Kirakossian called on the Armenian community of Austria to do its best to support the rare academic field in Europe like Armenology, namely through Dr. Jasmine Dum-Tragut and her Centre for Armenian Studies.
