“I have never aspired for personal happiness and welfare in my life. I have only aspired for one thing, and that is the freedom and prosperity of my familiar people. I don’t seek appreciation of my merit. I only want my people to be happy, and I serve for that purpose all my life.”
Andranik Ozanyan
Today, February 25th marked the 151st birth anniversary of Armenian Fedayin, military commander and state figure, Warrior Andranik. Andranik Ozanyan has played a huge role in the Armenian liberation movement. He saw the Turks’ terrorist acts, the First World War and became the direct participant and bearer of all that.
Unlike many other remarkable Armenians, Warrior Andranik was one of the exceptional individuals who became a hero in novels, legends and several songs in his living years. Squares, streets and schools have been named after him.
As reports Akhaltskhanet, the Youth Center of Akhalkalak respected the memory of the Armenian warrior with an Armenian language lesson devoted to the military commander, followed by the screening of the film called “Warrior Andranik”.
