Teachers of Armenian schools of Tehran celebrated the New Year

On the evening of January 23, 2016, at the initiative of the Board of Education of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran and according to the beautiful tradition of the past years, teachers of the Armenian National Schools of Tehran celebrated the New Year and the Theophany in the presence of leader of the Diocese, His Grace, Father, Archbishop Sepuh Sarkisian in the hall of A. Aharonian Kindergarten, as posted on the website of the Armenian Prelacy of Tehran, according to Hayern Aysor.

Among those attending the event were 32 retired teachers, 8 current teachers and 55 female teachers, as well as the majority of the members of the Board of Education.

The program began at 16:50 with the Lord’s Prayer, after which Mrs. Jasmine Minasian gave opening remarks on behalf of the Board of Education. In her opening remarks, she welcomed the attendance of His Holiness and the teachers and called Deputy Superintendent of H. Tovmasian School Hranush Sarkisian to the stage to host the event.

The program included speeches by the male and female deputy superintendents of various schools, retired and practicing teachers, who wished everyone a Happy New Year and expressed their wishes to the attendees. The speeches were followed by performances of beautiful Armenian songs and reciting of poems around tables full of pastry and fruits.

Chairperson of the Board of Education, Mr. Sevan Danielian gave a welcome speech and expressed his congratulatory remarks.

The leader of the Diocese gave a closing speech in which he referred to all the attendees as his partners, mentioned that all Armenians in Armenia and the Diaspora lack knowledge of the Armenian language and emphasized the following: “To treat this widespread ��?disease’, we need to have the will that is strong like Mount Ararat, and we all have to make efforts to make sure that ��?disease’ doesn’t spread any further.”
