Applications for William Saroyan International Prize for Writing are being accepted

ARMACAD would like to inform about the William Saroyan International Prize for Writing, which is granted every two years to authors of new books and is held in association with the William Saroyan Foundation at Stanford University, writes Mediamax.

The prize commemorates the life and legacy of author, artist, dramatist and composer William Saroyan and is intended to reveal and encourage new or emerging writers whose books have been published in 2014 and 2015.

The prize is for the fiction and non-fiction books by authors of all nationalities, but not for prose. The works by employees of the William Saroyan Foundation and those already having received the prize may not contend to receive the prize.

The authors whose works are of higher literary value and meet the standards of Saroyan’s legacy will have a higher chance of winning.

The names of the winners will be announced in Summer 2016.

Applicants need to complete the application and submit their work.

The deadline for submission of applications is January 29, 2016.
