Armenia to participate in first semi-final at Eurovision Song Contest 2016

Armenia’s representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will perform in the first semi-final, which will be held in Stockholm on May 10, 2016, as reports the PR Department of Armenia’s First Channel.
The first semi-final will also include performances by the representatives of Croatia, Finland, Moldova, Greece, Hungary, Russia, the Netherlands, San Marino, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Malta, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, Iceland, Austria, Sweden, France and Spain.
The second semi-final of the contest will be held on May 12 with performances by the representatives of Latvia, Belarus, Ireland, Switzerland, Macedonia, Australia, Lithuania, Poland, Israel, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, Denmark, Georgia, Romania, Slovenia, Norway, Ukraine, Belgium, Germany, Italy and the UK. The performers’ numbers will be announced in March when all the participating countries present their songs.
This year, Eurovision will include performances by representatives of 43 countries. The slogan for this year’s contest is Come Together. Let us remind that certain rules have changed. During Eurovision Song Contest 2016, the representatives of the Great Five countries (France, Spain, Germany, Italy, the UK) and Sweden, which will be hosting the contest, will start their performances in the semi-final stage, but will automatically move to the final stage. Moreover, they will have the right to vote for the other participants of the semi-final stage.
