After the unsuccessful subversive acts of the opponent in the night of December 17, in the result of which the latter, suffering hard losses, was thrown back, Azerbaijani special groups made the regular subversive act in the night of December 18 from the southern, eastern, north­eastern and northern directions of the contact line of antagonistic troops. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Press Service of NKR Defense Ministry, Armenian border keepers responded to the promotion of the rival’s special groups and switched to defensive battles. Azerbaijani fighters, suffering losses, were thrown back to their starting positions. Unfortunately, during the attacks, defense Army’s servicemen Aghasi Grigoryan(b.1996) and Ruben Aleksanyan(b.1996) courageously died as martyrs. On December 17, at around 21:30PM, Defense Army’s contract serviceman Gor Ohanyan(b.1992) was deadly wounded still in unclear circumstances in one of the military units’ protection station installed in the northern part of the Defense Army.

An investigation is underway to determine the details of the incident. The Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic shares the grief of the irreparable loss, expressing their support to the family members, relatives, and fellow soldiers of the deceased. The adversary’s provocative actions will not remain unpunished and the consequences of the created situation will be severe and irreversible.
