Russian Defense Minister announces that one of the pilots of downed jet is alive

Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation (RF) Sergei Shoygu has announced that one of the pilots of the Russian military jet downed by the Turkish armed forces in Syria is alive. As reports the Turkish Milliyet, Shoygu said the following as he talked about the mentioned topic:

“One of the pilots of the jet downed in Syria has been moved to the Hmeymim aerial military base. The operation to save the pilot lasted 12 hours,” writes ermenihaber.am.

Russia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France Alexander Orlov has also mentioned that the second Russian pilot is alive.

According to information from the embassy, the pilot was saved by Syrian forces in the area. Orlov reported that news during a live broadcast of Europe 1 Radio.
