RA Ministry of Diaspora holds teleconference with representatives of the “Nairi” National Cultural Autonomy of Stavropol
On October 8, the RA Ministry of Diaspora held a teleconference with representatives of the “Nairi” National Cultural Autonomy of Stavropol. Among the participants representing the RA Ministry of Diaspora were Head of the Department for Relations with the Near Diaspora at the RA Ministry of Diaspora Taron Shagoyan, as well as the heads and employees of the relevant subdivisions of the ministry.
Among the representatives of the “Nairi” National Cultural Autonomy of Stavropol were president of the autonomy Mikayel Beyryumov, director of the autonomy Anton Vardanyan, member of the council of the “Nairi” National Cultural Autonomy Anna Baghdasarova and others.
Mikayel Beyryumov presented the autonomy’s activities, as well as the current problems and upcoming programs. He mentioned that the 400-member autonomy carries out several programs aimed at preserving Armenian language, culture and national traditions.
He added that the representatives of the autonomy are in close collaboration with Yerevan State University, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and several other institutions.
Beyryumov mentioned that the Armenian community will have a new building by the end of the year and that there will be an Armenian national museum within the building.
Head of the Department for All-Armenian Programs at the RA Ministry of Diaspora Gagik Gyanjumyan presented the ministry’s programs and voiced hope that the Armenian community of Stavropol, particularly the youth would be actively engaged in those programs.
The sides also discussed the issue of providing the Armenian Sunday school of Stavropol with relevant literature and supporting materials on the sidelines of the plan for the development and provision of literature and supporting materials for Armenian schools in the Diaspora.
The meeting ended with a question-and-answer session and an exchange of ideas.
