The Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, on Monday issued a congratulatory message on the 24th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

“Historic and sacred is this day. [On this day] in 1991, our people fulfilled their centuries-old dream of living independently and freely, and (…) strengthened the foundations of our statehood.

“Independence Day is an invitation to reassess the road we have passed (…), develop our country, and (…) to always keep up our pledge to the homeland,” the Catholicos’ message specifically reads, reported the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Information Services.
