France 2 TV presented report on Mount Ararat

France’s France 2 television station has prepared a report on the biblical Mount Ararat, writes Artsakhpress.

As posted on the television station’s website, in the program called “Armenia’s Symbol: Mount Ararat”, it is mentioned that the Armenians worship an ancient volcanic mountain that interests everyone. The television station’s crew traveled to the territory where, according to legend, Noah’s Ark landed. Every summer, hundreds of hikers, including Armenians try to climb to the top of this mountain.

“Mount Ararat is a part of our lives. It’s more than just a mountain for us,” said Armenian hiker Vardan Kyurumyan.

The representatives of the television station emphasize the fact that the Armenians worship the mountain and mention that the name “Ararat” can be seen everywhere in Armenia, including on the roof of a factory, on the top of hotels and even on cigarette packs. France 2 adds that there is a closed border between the mountain and those who worship it. Turkey and Armenia don’t have diplomatic relations, and to reach Mount Ararat, Armenians need to pass through Georgia’s territory. Armenian music is played during the program.
