Events devoted to Armenian culture were held in several cities across China as part of the Days of Armenian Culture program held from July 21 to 26.
On July 22, during the event organized with the support of the RA Embassy in China, ethnographer Lusik Aguletsi opened her personal exhibition showcasing Armenian national costumes at the gallery of The Chinese Museum of Women and Children designed with Armenian motives. The opening of the exhibition was followed by the showing of works of arts by Armenian masters.
The official inauguration of the Armenian Culture Days event was held on the same day at the Tianqiao Theater of Beijing with opening remarks by Ministers of Culture of Armenia and China Hasmik Poghosyan and Luo Shukan and with the participation of Ambassador to China Armen Sargsyan.
The event included performances of Armenian dances by Berd Dance Ensemble and performances of Armenian national music by Mikayel Voskanyan and Friends ethno-jazz band. Among those attending the concert were several high-ranking guests, ambassadors, members of diplomatic corps, journalists, as well as representatives of the public at large.
The meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the People’s Republic of China was held on the sidelines of the visit to Beijing. The sides discussed various issues related to cultural cooperation and indicated the future joint programs. Minister Poghosyan invited her counterpart to Armenia to participate in the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of China event to be held in Armenia, which the Minister of Culture of the People’s Republic of China accepted.
