The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan sent a thank­you note to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium Charles Michel in relation to recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Legislative and Executive bodies.

“Your Excellency, I express a special gratitude for your speech in the parliament on July 18 of the current year by which you reaffirmed the stance of the Belgian Government over this issue. The resolution adopted by the Chamber of Representatives today makes the process of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Belgium complete. In the context of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide it is important to consolidate efforts of the international community aimed to preventing new genocides and crimes against humanity. Your Excellency, please, accept my profound respect”, is said in the message of the President.
