Sergio Markarian quits as coach of Greek national soccer team
Sergio Markarian has quit as coach of Greece’s national soccer team, reports Greek football, according to Panorama.am. The Uruguayan-Armenian coach took over the 2004 European champion from Claudio Ranier.
Currently, Greece is at the bottom of Group F, scoring only 2 points in 6 matches.
“I took over the team at a difficult moment and did everything I could. I apologize to all the fans of the team for the unsatisfactory results. I thank everyone for their trust and support.”
