Tickets for TaTever Tramway are now available online

Tourists visiting Tatev and wishing to sit on the TaTever Tramway can order their tickets online by visiting the Tramway’s official website at www.tatever.am.

Artsakhpress writes that, according to TaTever Tramway’s press service, this is the first tourism website in Armenia that offers an online ticket sale. “This mechanism is successfully applied abroad and especially at developed touristic centers,” says Director of TaTever Tramway Vahe Baghdasaryan.

According to him, the goal of introducing this system is to use the best international experience and provide more affordable services for tourists visiting the tramway so that they can plan and enjoy their time in Tatev as wisely as possible.

As stated in the press release, the international ticket sale system of SKIDATA, which is one of the best companies in the world, was introduced in the spring, offering the opportunity to provide visitors with high-class services that correspond to international standards.

“The online ticket sale system is integrated with the SKIDATA system. When a tourists wants to purchase a ticket online, he is offered to choose a day and hour and the free flight,” said Garik Gyulasaryan, head of BigBek Company, which prepared the website and introduced the online ticket sale system.

According to Gyulasaryan, tickets are sold with credit cards, and security is guaranteed through the program security system applied in the banking system.

The press release states that the official website of the TaTever Tramway has been upgraded.

Visitors can not only purchase tickets, but also get information about various services provide in this region for tourism, as well as events, hotels and guest houses and find all the information that tourists need about not only Tatev, but the sites worth seeing on the road.

The exploitation of the world’s longest tramway called “TaTever” was held with the participation of hundreds of guests and Armenia’s high-ranking officials on October 16, 2010. The exploitation marked the launch of the $45 mln dollar “Rebirth of Tatev” project carried out by the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia.

The tramway is 5.7 km long. The highest point is 330 meters, and it takes 11 minutes to travel from Halidzor village to the famous medieval Tatev Monastery.

The creators of TaTever Tramway have received the certificate of the Guinness Book of Records. TaTever Tramway is officially the world’s longest tramway.
