Famous Lebanese singer salutes Armenians in an international festival On July 4, the Famous singer Majida El Roumi performed in Jounie International Festival in Lebanon singing her best songs, including an Armenian song ‘menq en sarere mer’ in both Arabic and Armenian lyrics. The song which was recommended by the Syrian-Armenian opera singer Arax Chekidjian (El Roumi’s voice coach) was one of many Armenian songs which Majida El Roumi selected to sing it as a greeting to Armenian people in Lebanon and the world. In an interview on MTV Lebanon, El Roumi says: “They have been spreading kindness and happiness everywhere for the past 100 years. They deserve this greeting from the bottom of my heart.”
