On June 30, RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan received Mayor of Glendale Ara Najarian and his wife, Palmira Najarian.

As reports the Department of Information of the RA Ministry of Defense, during the meeting, the sides mentioned the presence of good preconditions for cooperation and the willingness to work in this direction. Ara Najarian talked about the Armenian community of Glendale and mentioned that the Armenians of Glendale are respected and professional lawyers, doctors, businessmen, etc. The Armenian mayor assured that Glendale maintains strong ties with the homeland and especially follows the events in relation to the defense sector and the armed forces.

On the same day, Minister Ohanyan also received Armenian American benefactors Vartkes and Mary Najarin, who are in Yerevan at the invitation of the Armenian Association of Medical Doctors NGO. Expressing gratitude to the benefactors for their pro-national activities, the minister granted the Drastamat Kanayan Medal to Vartkes Najarian. The Najarians stated that even though they live far away from Armenia, they are always connected to the homeland with mind and soul.
