Recently Ermenihaber.am reflected on the fact that the monuments of the city of Kars of historic Armenia are on the verge of extinction and the statement of Turkish writer Isa Yilmaz, who expressed his concerns.

Turkey is focused on the reflection of the Armenian media outlet. In particular, Cihan News Agency has addressed writer Yilmaz with the request for his explanation.

“The Yerevan-based Ermenihaber News Agency has reflected on Isa Yilmaz’s statement on the consecutive elimination of historical monuments of Kars,” writes Cihan. “In regard to this, Isa Yilmaz noted that it was very painful to see that Yerevan is more concerned about Kars than Ankara. According to Yilmaz, a “stone of history” falls off with each structure that collapses. It’s irrational to eliminate history to provide apartments for university students visiting the city.”

Nearly a dozen Turkish media outlets have also reflected on the topic.

Let us remind that recently Kars-based Turkish writer Isa Yilmaz emphasized that the ancient city of Kars could serve as a rich source of information for literature and the film industry and expressed concern that the only and only fortress of Kars could remain as the only historical monument of Kars due to the existing tolerance and indifference.
