Atom Egoyan and Arsineh Khanjian visited Yerevan Zoo to see the muflon under their custody

Famous Canadian-Armenian film director Atom Egoyan and his wife, actress Arsineh Khanjian have visited Yerevan Zoo. They had scheduled a visit to the zoo three years ago when Arsineh Khanjian had taken custody of one of the Armenian Muflons since the mother muflon had refused to take care of its newborn and the zoo’s employees had expressed the commitment to take custody. The actress was so touched by this story that she immediately decided to take custody of the small muflon and named it Gandzik (Little Treasure).

The actress was very happy because Gandzik has already grown up and lives in a big, spacious cage and compared the growth of the muflon and her son, Arshil, who is growing up and becoming a full-fledged member of society.

Arsineh Khanjian says she didn’t have good impressions of Yerevan Zoo when she visited it for the first time several years ago, but she sees progress. For Atom Egoyan, taking custody of the muflon is part of his universal values.

As the representatives of Yerevan Zoo told “ArmenPress”, among the guests of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival accompanying Atom Egoyan and Arsineh Khanjian was Albert Vidershpil, who has been taking care of one of the owls of the zoo with his friend for the second year now and has named it Tevye. Albert Vidershpil, who is the director of the Hamburg Film Festival and a great friend of the Armenian people, encourages his friends to visit Armenia and witness the rich nature and cultural values of Armenia.
