Armenian university students of Tehran organized event dedicated to Armenian Genocide Centennial

Members of the Armenian General Union of University Students of Tehran organized a literary-musical event dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, reports Alik Daily.

The event began with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by a performance by Tavigh Choir and opening remarks by member of the Union Nayiri Galstyan. The members also recited poems during the event. Later, the event’s keynote speaker, member of the Armenian National Committee Isik Hunanesian talked about the Turkish government’s positions and reflected on the policy of denial that Turkey has been leading to this day and the policy that is distorting history. He also talked about certain Turkish intellectuals who discuss, acknowledge and condemn the Armenian Genocide.

The speaker touched upon the positive reactions of the international community to recognition on the threshold of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. In the second part of his speech, Isik Hunanesian talked about the activities carried out by the Center for Studies on Armenian Issues (HUSK) and attached importance to youth involvement in those activities.
