Another Armenian church in Turkey in poor condition
The Kara Church, which is a church that has remained standing since the Byzantine era in the Chiftlikkyo province of the Turkish Yalova region, is in poor condition. As reported by “ArmenPress”, citing the Turkish haberx.com, the residents of the province have expressed their concern about the fact that the church is moving closer to extinction day after day and have mentioned that its renovation can boost the development of tourism in Yalova. “Why is this structure in Chiftlikkyo in a poor condition? It has to be renovated,” say the locals and add that the mosques in the region have already been renovated.
Kara Church was built in the Byzantine era. Although it remains standing, it is on the verge of collapse. Despite that, the Turkish authorities aren’t taking any steps to restore the church.
