Mine attack on Russian Embassy in Syria

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Damascus was subject to a mine attack on May 19, reports official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexander Lukashevich, according to News.am. According to him, one of the mines exploded at a 15 meter distance from the entrance to the diplomatic representation, and the other pierced the wall and fell in the office of the official building of the embassy.

The embassy didn’t suffer any casualties, but the building has been damaged.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has viewed the incident as an organized terrorist act against the embassy.

The UN Security Council has condemned the attack on the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Damascus.
