This year, 111 museums of Armenia and Artsakh will participate in the Night of Museums event.
During a May 16 press conference, RA Deputy Minister of Culture Arev Samuelyan attached importance to this and mentioned that there would be 10 more museums participating in the event this year.
“The museums simply couldn’t have been indifferent to the symbol for this year, that is, the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, and the title for this year’s event is “Museums: Witnesses of Memory”. There will also be events hosted by centers and embassies abroad,” Arev Samuelyan mentioned, as “Armenpress” reports.
RA Deputy Minister of Culture Arev Samuelyan emphasized that there would be a presentation entitled “Armenia in Maps” in different countries around the world.
“All the museums have done their best to organize concerts, plays, lectures and exhibitions. Yerevan’s metro stations will be open until 1 a.m., and we thank Yerevan Municipality for that,” she emphasized.
To participate in the Night of Museums program, all visitors can register and join the Firechat App. It brings together visitors and provides them with the opportunity to share information about the events of the day and know what’s going on at other museums.
This year, the Night of Museums pan-European event will consolidate the community of culture lovers. There will be several events at various cultural institutions on May 16. The goal is to strengthen the bonds between museums and visitors and draw the public’s attention.
There will also be events at museums of provinces and Artsakh.
Every year, the Night of Museums pan-European event is held at the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture and under the sponsorship of the Council of Europe and UNESCO. Museums of Armenia have been participating since 2005.
