The struggle against the demolition of the Armenian orphanage in Istanbul’s Tuzla District, which began on May 6^th, continues.

According to yerkir.am, the participants of the struggle have called for unity to raise awareness about it. On the morning of May 9, Ani Balikch, mother of the Armenian soldier killed in Turkey on 24 April 2011, will give a lecture on the Armenian arts, which will be followed by a tree planting ceremony.

Afterwards, the participants of the event will clean the area, will listen to two lectures moderated by editor of Agos Weekly’s Armenian section Bagrat Estoukian and will watch a film. At 22:00, the band “Some” will give a concert.

Let us mention that a special list of necessary items has been prepared and posted on the wall of the orphanage, and neighbors help provide food.
