RA Minister of Diaspora answers French journalists’ questions
On April 25, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received the journalists for La Provence de Marseilles Daily of Marseilles, France.
Responding to the journalists’ questions, Hranush Hakobyan attached importance to the events that have been taking place in the world and in Armenia recently, particularly Pope Francis’s sermon addressed to 1,200,000,000 Catholics around the world and the Holy Mass that was served in memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide.
“The granting of the title of Doctor of the Universal Church to Grigor Narekatsi was also of international significance and that the Canonization of the 1.5 million innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide was a historic event.
The commemorative event held at Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial in Armenia was a great historic and political event and was held with the participation of high-ranking officials from 50 countries around the world. As a nation, we Armenians are more than grateful to the Presidents of France, Russia, Cyprus and Serbia, as well as the Presidents who weren’t able to come, but were with us with heart and soul. This goes to show that people in the world are becoming kinder. This is also a message to the world so that genocide never happens again in any part of the world,” the minister mentioned.
