On April 25, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Sweden Esabelle Dingizian.
Greeting the guest, Minister Hranush Hakobyan attached importance to the fact that Diaspora Armenians are politically active and that they contribute to the consolidation and development of the given Armenian community. The minister also talked about the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide and attached importance to the legal, historical, political, psychological and other aspects of those events.
To help Armenians preserve the national identity within the Armenian community, we need to help preserve the Armenian language, culture, faith and family. The Ministry of Diaspora develops programs to bring the Armenian Diaspora closer to Armenia and vice versa,” the minister particularly mentioned. The minister also presented all the programs and events of the Ministry of Diaspora that are aimed at meeting those objectives.
Expressing gratitude for the cordial reception, Esabelle Dingizian mentioned that the “Against the Crime of Genocide” global forum was extremely important for her as both Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Sweden and as a descendant of an Armenian Genocide survivor.
The sides discussed further engagement of Swedish-Armenian youth in the programs carried out by the RA Ministry of Diaspora and closer cooperation.
