Concert dedicated to 75th anniversary of Grammy Award-winning Hayk Boyajyan

A concert dedicated to the 75th anniversary of U.S.-based composer Hayk Boyajyan was held on the sidelines of the 4th Talalyan Brothers International Festival at Komitas Chamber Music Hall on July 3rd. As reported by the program’s official PR partner, PR correspondent of SPRIN GROUP Mariam Safaryan to “ArmenPress”, the composer also attended the concert, which featured performances of his works. A series of concerts will be held from June 26th July 23rd as part of the 4th Talalyan Brothers International Festival.

Grammy Award-winning composer Hayk Boyajyan was born in 1938 in Paris. When he was little, he moved to Argentina, studied at Liszt Conservatory and moved to the United States in 1958.

Boyajyan currently lives in Lexington, Massachusetts. He continued his studies in music at the New England Conservatory and went on to study at Brandace University. His teachers were Baltsi, Shifrin, Lusier and Cohen.

Boyajyan is a member of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Armenia, a member of the ASCAP, a member of Mack Dowel Colon and more. He won a Grammy for his third Sonata for the Piano and has received awards from ASCAP, Lexington Art Council and more. Boyajyan has composed music in different genres, starting from chamber music and ending with symphonic music. Most of his works have been performed in several countries around the world and have been recorded in well-known recording studios. Some of his poems and compositions have been published. His works include songs for the piano and the organ, vocal and piano, choirs, chamber music (wood brass, copper brass) and symphonic music (symphonies, prelude, oratory, etc.).
